Causeway bay is the next stop for Day 3 of shopping. From the map planned, we had lotsa shopping places to cover on the list and each looks quite far fr each other, so tt means we needa walk quite abit. The gd news is, all shopping places today are aircon so needn't perspire so much like yesterday. Anw, 1st stop on the list was Times Square which we went for breakfast. Breakfast was at Superstar which is a pretty posh place I've seen thus far during my trip in HK. All the furnishing at the entrance were red, designed in traditional chinese layout. Even the sign board is so nice (all white seen fr pics). Anw, had dim sum breakfast there. Among all the dishes ordered, mum made an order for a plate of xiao long bao. Initially when the waitress placed fresh small bowls on our table, i was wondering why did she do it as we didn't order any noodles/rice, which these bowls are usually used for. Then when the xiao long bao came, the waitress actually serve us each a xiao long bao in those bowls, which is unlike the usual way where we take the xiao long bao ourselves..Then I realised, she did it cos the xiao long bao has lotsa soup inside and she had to serve us cos she wanted to avoid us fr spoiling the xiao long bao when we take it ourselves. The xiao long bao was so juicy inside and fat inside..yummy!
Aft breakfast, headed out for shopping as usual. And guess wad, I saw my kiehl's!! Whoohoo..was so happy when I saw it cos I knew there's a chance I cld replenish my stock at home if the pr is right. Indeed it was. Though still cn't compare with the US pricing, but there was still at least cheaper than Sin, so bought a couple of it. Once done with Times Square area, we proceeded on to World Trade Centre and then to Fashion Island, which is suppose to sell trendy clothes for the young. Ok la, inside is like our Far East Plaza but had more shops..we din liked it in there so moved on to Sogo.
The only main attraction of Sogo was the Housewife cake (lao po bing) and almond biscuits which mum bought tons of it. Ok, i had a share of tt buying of housewife cake as well. Since it was highly recommended, I tried 1 on the spot to decide if it was really gd and if it's nice enof to buy for colleagues. The texture of the paste inside is truly amazing. Soft, tender and not too sweet..Even the outer pastry was crispy..V gd!Anw, ya mum bought so many boxes of the almond biscuit that the lady had to pack them all into a huge box for us so that we can bring them up on the plane easily. When bro saw the amt of food mum bought, they almost "faint" cos it means now we had to lug a huge box everywhere for shopping, which is so troublesome. Fortunately, the lady was nice to help us keep the stuff at the shop 1st, and till we were ready to return to the hotel, we could come back and collect the stuff.
Despite seeing fr the map that all shopping places were quite far fr each other, but on actual ground, all seems quite closely linked. Gd for us then, and we completed all places we've planned by late afternoon. Yup and today, I had my doses of Xu Liu Shan mango desert again, which I'm so addicted to, and decided to eat to my hearts filled during my stay in HK.
Once done with Causeway Bay, we returned back to the hotel to drop all our shopping, had an hr rest and went out for dinner. Can't recall where we had dinner but all tt I remembered was we were back to the hotel almost 9pm. Pretty early huh..cos i guess, we had alr almost "given up" on shopping which was juz ok there as pr were abt the same as Sin. So most of our time were spent eating for hrs at restaurants and snacking at cafes. Ya shopping in HK is nth as compared to US which was really fabulous.
Tis xiao long bao cost S$5/pc, same size as per normal but v juicy inside..Look at tt fat base of soup
